Along with the development of tourism in
Bali, many emerging issues related to the impact of tourism itself. Start
from the increasing number of service businesses in the tourism and
hospitality, making the competition becomes more intense, even in a condition
could create unfair competition. Besides
the problems above, the negative impact of tourism development is simply alien
cultures that go without screening it first, causing the danger of cultures,
traditions and social values of the people of Bali, which at present can be
seen from the tendency of the Balinese glorifying
a foreign culture than his own culture when it all could have an impact on the
fading cultures of Bali. Start
of the Balinese people who went along with "clubbing" in
discotheques, the rise of binge drinking, as well as the more severe is easy to
get drugs freely, as is known in Bali which is one of the regions in Indonesia
that many HIV infected people. Very
concerned if these negative things continued to evolve in the absence of proper
treatment and effective, so that later can damage the image and social state of
society in Bali.
Besides the impact on the field of
tourism, these developments also resulted in a considerable impact on various
sectors, such as from the emergence of crime caused by the dense population in
large cities that arise as a result of the many immigrants who seek work in Bali
without the knowledge and expertise provided enough, so it
raises a new problem for Bali.
Other
effects also occur in the environment sector, where an explosion of garbage and
waste in large quantities due to the increasing number of hotels and tourism
businesses of existing services and developing countries, compounded by the
lack of public awareness and management of business-related services are in the
process and
dispose of garbage and waste properly.
And the current issues that
are warm right now is, congestion
resulting from the impact of tourism development in Bali is very rapid and difficult
to be limited. Increasing number of tourists visiting also have a major impact in
addition to starting many local people who buy private vehicles due to an increase
in the economic standard of the people in Bali. This is also compounded by the
absence of proper public transportation with traffic conditions in Bali. The
number of illegal tourist guides also provide meaningful impact to traffic
congestion in Bali, despite the existence of only one road that connects the residential
areas of the community with the tourism regions. In connection with this issue,
the government has provided solutions that were expected to address the problem,
by creating a means of public transportation is "Sarbagita", also with
the construction of an alternative route to the tourist area of "Underpass"
and also motorway which will reduce congestion in Bali.
